Thanksgiving Morning

Granny and Grandpa sent the kids some presents for Thanksgiving. They loved their new books and their Reindeer.

Happy Halloween!!

This Halloween was fun, fabulous and freezing cold. The temperature was about 30 degrees with chilly wind as a bonus. Sophie went as Sleeping Beauty, Mackay was a knight with a skeleton face and Spence was a pirate. Mackay told us he didn't want to be a knight he wanted to be something scary this year. So we had to compromise to get one more year out of the knight costume. This was actually the third time Danny painted his face because of some other parties we went to. Spencer was facinated with the paint and kept trying to grab his face all night. We took these pictures just before we bundled them up to go trick or treating. Danny was the lucky chaperone and I got to stay home with Spence and hand out candy to all 6 of the trick or treaters. We acutally left at 7 o'clock to hang out with some friends. We had some great food and tried to play a game while Spence crawled all over the game board. By eight thirty Danny and I were exhausted.

Sophia's Costume Parade at Bethany Nursery School, Monday, October 30,2006

Sophia's preschool had a little costume parade the day before Halloween. She went as Sleeping Beauty. The best part for her was that she got to wear blush, lipstick and "eyelashes"(mascara). Her friends with her are Hailey, Ellie R., Ellie K.,and Alexa. She has had such a great time with these girls in her class. After the costume parade they walked across the street and paraded their costumes for the residents in a nursing home. Posted by Picasa

Family Night October 30,2006

Tonight for family night we all pulled out our pumpkin carving skills. Mackay practically did his own pumpkin this year. It was great. He made a bat. Sophia on the other hand needed a bit more help. Her pumpkin had a witch and a crescent moon on it. We put them to work scooping out all the guts. They were a little shy at first, but as you can see the shirts came off and they got nice and slimy. After we carved pumpkins we all decorated sugar cookie pumkins and ghosts. Dessert is always the best part!

Mackay is really into this!

Trunk or Treat October 28, 2006

Trunk or treat was fun and a little stressful this year. I was in charge of helping the young women organize a spook alley. It was fun but lots of work. Ellie K. and her family came with us to the party and they had a great time eating, playing games and going through the spook alley.

Pumpkin Patch October 7, 2006

Sophia's friend had a birthday party at a pumkin patch and needed me to drive some kids so we ended up inviting our whole family along. They didn't seem to care too much and the kids had a great time picking apples, manuvering through the corn maze, and petting baby farm animals.

Mackay seeing how tall he is. Almost 41/2 feet WoW!

Sophia and all the other kids in the party group.

Sophia and Mackay on top of the hay bails. Of course it was a beautiful sunny day with a roaring wind. Welcome to Minnesota. It seemed to be mating season for the Japanese Beetles also. They were all over the place, I mean in swarms.

Spencer's First Haircut October 26,2006

Spencer was starting to get a little mullet. So of course I had to fix that. Here he is with his sucker. He was so into his sucker and watching himself in the mirror that I don't think he even noticed me cutting his hair.

Spence after his haircut. Notice--he is still smiling!

Spencer's First Birthday October 4, 2006

It's hard to believe it's already been one year. It was a hard couple of first months, but we made it and he is a health and happy baby. We feel so blessed to have Spence in our home! He is such a sweet boy and is always ready to give us loves and hugs. He is quite the jabber baby--he makes us all just laugh with his wacky language. And I can't say enough about his cute toothy grin. He loves his walker toy and buzzes all around the house with in. He has just started making this wierd girgle sound in his throat and he does it all the time--pushing cars, playing toys, riding in the car. . . What else can I tell you about Spence? He hates strangers still but now loves his Daddy. He yells DaDa down the stairwell when Danny is at work, thinking he is down working on the computer. Sophia tells him, "Dads at work you silly boy". When Mackay leaves for school he stands by the window waving his hand and yelling Kay Kay. He definately keeps us entertained and on our toes.

For Spencer's Birthday we went out to eat at Green Mill. Spence did not like the wait for his food. He was starving and kept boobing on and off until he got his dinner. He amazed us by almost eating his whole plate of mac and cheese. When we got home and had cake and icecream he wasn't too interested in eating so he just played in it.
